Feeding Stray / Ferals
The Feeding Strays and Ferals Project supports individuals who care for community cat colonies, feral cats, and stray cats living on or near their premises. These caregivers often provide food, clean water, shelter, and basic monitoring without financial assistance or formal support. Their daily commitment prevents vulnerable cats from going hungry and helps create safer, more stable colonies.
Purrfect Hope aims to assist these caregivers by supplying donated or sponsored cat food wherever resources allow. This support helps ensure that cats receive consistent nourishment while reducing the financial burden on the people who have taken responsibility for their wellbeing.
Regular feeding also allows caregivers to observe the cats more closely. They may notice injuries, illness, pregnancy, abandoned kittens, or cats that require sterilisation. Feeding therefore becomes an important first step in responsible colony care and can support future Trap-Neuter-Return efforts.
This project is not intended to encourage uncontrolled breeding or permanent dependence without intervention. Our broader goal is to combine responsible feeding with sterilisation, monitoring, education, and humane population management wherever possible.
Every bag, tin, pouch, or sponsored meal helps a caregiver continue providing essential support to cats that may otherwise have no reliable source of food. By helping the people who are already helping these animals, we can reach more colonies, prevent suffering, and create healthier communities for both cats and people.
